blows a 12½-inch bubble to become the 2005

Dubble Bubble National Bubble Blowing Champion.

CHICAGO, IL—(August 1, 2005)—Dubble Bubble and Wal-Mart crowned their Dubble Bubble National Bubble Blowing champion Thursday, July 28, 2005 live on ABC’s Good Morning America. Ryan Russenberger, a 12-year-old from Bigelow, AR, blew away the competition with a whopping 12½-inch bubble— the same size as a medium pizza! As his grand prize, Russenberger takes home a $10,000 US Savings Bond and will make a $1,000 donation in his name to a Children’s Miracle Network hospital in his hometown.

Ryan Russenberger was one of five finalists at the national finals. All four runners-up each receive a $5,000 US Savings Bond and a $1,000 donation in their names to Children’s Miracle Network hospitals in their hometowns. Runners-up in the Sixth Annual Dubble Bubble National Bubble Blowing finals were:

 The five finalists earned their positions in the Sixth Annual Dubble Bubble National Bubble Blowing Contest preliminaries, held at Wal-Mart stores across the country on Saturday, June 11, 2005.

Ryan Russenberger assumes the crown from the 2004 Dubble Bubble National Bubble Blowing champion, Kelsey Lea, also of Arkansas, who was 12 years old when she claimed the crown with an 18½" bubble in July 2004. As the reigning Dubble Bubble National Bubble Blowing Champion, Lea has appeared on national television, local and regional news networks, has been interviewed for magazine and newspaper features and has even been to London, where she beat the reigning UK champion in a head-to-head International Blow-Off!
